Edge’s Pledge:

Shaping Futures Together

Edge Group Scotland is proud to announce that we have officially become a DYW Pledge Partner, joining organisations across the country who are committed to creating opportunities for Scotland’s young people.

The DYW Pledge is a national commitment from employers to support young people to succeed in the world of work—through jobs, apprenticeships, training, education and volunteering. At Edge, this aligns perfectly with our ethos of Believe. Transform. Achieve. and our mission to empower autistic young adults and those with additional support needs (ASN) to thrive.

Why Edge’s Pledge matters

Many young people leaving school need more than just a route into employment—they need confidence, independence skills, and the chance to experience different pathways at their own pace. Our supported day programmes for school leavers and young adults who are autistic and/or have other additional support needs combine employability training with real-world skills: independent travel, volunteering, cooking, budgeting, and outdoor sports.

By pledging our support through DYW, we’re strengthening the bridge between education and the workplace, ensuring that young people who face barriers—whether through disability, mental health, or lack of opportunity—are not left behind.

Creating inclusive opportunities

Through our partnership with DYW Edinburgh, Midlothian & East Lothian, we will:

  • Offer career inspiration and insight by sharing pathways in social care, outdoor education, and community-based learning.

  • Attend careers events and school engagement sessions, helping young people understand the skills, confidence, and independence needed for positive futures.

  • Deliver skills development sessions—from employability workshops to practical life skills—tailored to young people with diverse support needs.

  • Champion fair work practices, building on our Living Wage and Living Hours accreditations, and promoting inclusive pathways into employment.

A word from Edge

Our pledge is about unlocking potential,” said Claire Runciman, Marketing Manager. “At Edge, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to explore who they are, gain confidence, and find their place in the world of work. Partnering with DYW helps us share that vision and create more opportunities for those who need them most.

Looking ahead

As a DYW Pledge Partner, we look forward to working closely with schools, colleges, and employers across our region—offering young people new ways to experience the workplace, build skills, and prepare for independence.

This is Edge’s Pledge: to inspire, include, and invest in the future of Scotland’s young people — helping them to Believe. Transform. Achieve..
